Drawn to the Music
Stravinsky's Firebird
Drawn to the Music is a collaborative arts project combining reading classic stories, listening to great music and creating original illustrations in response.
Students from 36 schools from all around New Hampshire have submitted more than 3,000 original pieces of art for Drawn to the Music in the first six years of this collaborative arts project.
This year, we explored the tale of Prince Ivan and his friendship with the Firebird. The miraculous creature brings about the defeat of Kaschei the Deathless and so releases the beautiful princesses from a magic spell.
The orchestra presented an intricately photochoreographed performance of Stravinsky's Firebird at its regular concert in April 2012.
