Ethan Cheng
Cello
Ethan Cheng began playing the cello at the age of four, first drawn to the instrument after hearing his father play. He has studied with a variety of cellists, notably Carol Ou at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School and Harel Geitheim at the Manchester Community Music School. While studying under Mr. Geitheim, Ethan won the 2003 Greater Manchester Youth Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and was a Finalist in the 2003 Nashua Symphony Orchestra’s Young Musician’s Concerto Competition.
Currently, Ethan is a member of the New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra, the Southern New Hampshire University Orchestra and teaches cello at the Manchester Community Music School. Outside of music, Ethan has a B.S. in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University and is a member of the Gamma Nu Chapter of Delta Mu Delta, Business Honors Society.
